What about 2016? I was an unused substitute myself as Clare overpowered us in Ennis.

2010? To be honest I can’t even remember how we ended the campaign, not a match to live long in the memory.

You can obviously see what I’m getting at. While the League is nice to do well in, you won’t remember much about it by the end of the year if Tipperary are competing in the latter stages of an All-Ireland Championship. I have one National League medal to my name and am thankful for it, but make no bones about it, it is by far the least important competition of the season. For an experienced team like Tipperary, they do not necessarily need the validation of an amazing League run to steel them going into championship......
