CROKE PARK ON ALL IRELAND DAY…HERE WE COME
!!!It’s pinch yourself time…we’re set for the rocky road to Dublin on Sunday July 20th. The phrase “bonus territory” has got quite an airing recently but we’ve now left that region behind and are aiming for the summit. A typically tight contest between Kilkenny and Tipp plus the sort of courage in adversity which now defines this Tipp unit resulted in a narrow win for the blue and gold, capped by Oisín’s Croker corker and a Clonoulty-Rossmore brick wall. It was all over bar the shouting - and some applied mathematics.Well done to Liam and his mighty men. A new battle awaits and we all look forward to a second trip to Croke Park in a fortnight after an absence which has been far too long.Congratulations also to our camogie ladies who had to dig deep in extra time to shake off a dogged Kilkenny team to reach the semifinal for the second year in a row, the highlight being a Clodagh McIntyre Oisín-like bullet in extra time. The semifinal takes place on Saturday July 26 in Nowlan Park.Commiserations to our ladies footballers who had a tough draw in the All Ireland quarterfinal against the 2021 All Ireland champions, Meath.
